No Pawnbroker Forgotten Campaign Presents $1,000 Check to Family of Fallen Pawnbroker

1

The pawn industry was devastated in February by the tragic murder of beloved Lewisville Pawn owner Daniel White. Responding to this senseless act, The Pawnbroker Network partnered with Pawnbrokers Helping Pawnbrokers (PhP) to launch a powerful fundraising and awareness campaign – ‘No Pawnbroker Forgotten.’

“Pawn life isn’t for everyone. But for some, it’s everything,” stated Vito Granters, who conceived the idea of creating a fund to support pawnbrokers and their families during times of crisis.

The campaign started with the sale of custom-designed t-shirts that celebrate Pawn Life and commemorate the lives lost within the pawn community. The proceeds from these sales were allocated to reward funds or other supportive measures in instances where harm has befallen a member of the pawn family.

“The response was overwhelming,” said Erika Brooks from The Pawnbroker Network, “and it was gratifying to see the industry rally behind one of its own.”

The unity and resilience of the industry were powerfully showcased when countless pawnbrokers donned this shirt as a visual affirmation of their dedication to preserving and protecting the pawn community. “It was nothing short of moving to see so many pawnbrokers wearing this t-shirt as an outward sign of their personal commitment,” added Cyndee Harrison from The Pawnbroker Network.

As a symbol of love and respect for our fallen colleagues, these shirts have become much more than a piece of clothing; they are an emblem of solidarity and commitment. At the end of May, Anthony Vanegas from Sunbelt Pawn in Dallas, Texas, stepped forward to have one of the t-shirts, signed by many Texas pawnbrokers, framed for Daniel White’s surviving family. In a heartfelt gesture of unity, he presented the framed shirt and a $1,000 check on behalf of all those who participated.

The Pawnbroker Network and Pawnbrokers Helping Pawnbrokers invite you to join them in their efforts to ensure that no member of the pawn community is forgotten in their time of need. They’re still available for sale at pawnbrokernetwork.com.
