Howdy, I was born in Gainesville, Texas. Gainesville is known for being one of the most patriotic small towns in America. I like to think it’s claim to fame is the Frank Buck Zoo that once housed Barnum and Bailey Circus Animals when the circus was closed for the season. I have an Uncle that was actually a flying trapeze artist. Gainesville is also known for its commitment to our Veterans in their yearly Metal of Honor Host City Program.
I moved to Garland as a young child. Garland is close to the Dallas Metroplex where you can visit such sites as South Fork, which is the famous ranch used in the TV Show Dallas, Six Flags Over Texas, watch the Rangers play at Globe Life Park in Arlington, AT&T Stadium where the Dallas Cowboys play, Dallas Aquarium , John F Kennedy Memorial Plaza, Dallas Zoo, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, State Fair of Texas, and many more attractions.
As an adult, we lived in Allen, Texas. You want to talk Friday Night lights, just go see an Allen Eagle football game and watch the largest High School Football band with over 800 members!
We have 4 Pawnshops, one in Frisco Texas where you can watch the Frisco Rough Riders at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark, our second is in Lewisville Texas which is a hop, skip and jump from Fort Worth where this years NPA will be held.
In Fort Worth, you must visit the Stockyards! We also have a store in Paris which is in Northeast Texas. There you can see The Texas version of the Eiffel Tower!
Our last store is in Cooper Texas, which is the place that the Texas Association of Pawnbrokers call home.
We have spent years vacationing in our great state. You can head down to Lubbock, Texas, visit Scott at Swats Loans, see Buddy Holly’s birthplace, visit a Prairie Dog town, and see the Texas Tech University. Head down to Laredo on the Mexico Border and visit George at El Bufalo Pawn and see The Republic of the Rio Grande Museum and the Imaginarium of South Texas.
Of course, you cannot miss visiting San Antonio for the Alamo or Austin for the Capitol building. You want beaches, go down to Galveston or Padre Island. And if you want caves, they are all over!
If you don’t like the weather in Texas, hang around, it is sure to change! Or you can drive 100 miles in any direction and still be in Texas and pick the weather you like!
Come to Fort Worth for NPA’s Pawn Expo and if you still need more Texas Pride, come back next February to the Texas Association of Pawnbrokers 25th Anniversary Expo at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel and see some more sites.
Come see us!
