Turning your closet into cash

From CBS6Albany: Need some cash? Or possibly you are just tired of items in your home or closet?

You might want to try selling at a pawn shop.

CBS6 spoke with Lauren Kaminsky, President of E-Z Pawn Corp, which has 15 locations in New York City.

She says they’ve had to change their business model during COVID.

They offer Facetime appointments and give quotes.

She advises going to their website, and she says if you have an item on it, they’ll likely buy it from you.

“A lot of people haven’t been going out as much as they used to, so you are always second guessing that handbag or those pair of shoes that you bought years ago. Do you really need them anymore? They were expensive at the time, but some handbags have gone up in value. So its always good to bring those in, or even luxury goods,” said Kaminsky.

She says you’re always better off having something checked out, rather than it building up in your house if it’s not something you are using everyday.

Kaminsky says lots of handbags are coming in, as well as signed sports memorabilia.
